This document provides an overview of the different fusion technologies and a summary of the safety, environmental and waste aspects relevant to a future fusion power plant from published studies. The purpose of the Technology Report is to provide a description of the current understanding of the safety hazards, doses from accidents, radioactive waste and environmental discharges of future fusion power plant, to support discussions on the safety, security, and environmental regulatory framework for fusion power plants, by: - providing supplemental information to support the chapter in the Green Paper on “Fusion Technology and Associated Hazards”; - providing an overview of the different fusion technologies that are being pursued in the UK and internationally; - providing supplementary information and referenced literature on accident scenarios analysis and expected radioactive waste for fusion power plants.
